The Help Wins the Preliminary Holiday Weekend Box Office
Viola Davis The Help continued to dominate the box office over Labor Day weekend, taking in another $19 million, according to Box Office Mojo. Staying at No. 1 for the third week in a row, the film starring Emma Stone and Viola Davis has earned a total of $123.3 million in its four-week run. The Debt, an espionage thriller starring Helen Mirren and Sam Worthington, brought in $12.5 million in its opening weekend. Apollo 18 and Shark Night 3D, which also opened this weekend, followed with $10.7 and $10.3 million, respectively. The film starring James Franco and Freida Pinto made $10.2 million and has grossed $162.4 million overall.
